The Summer of the Tigers
Marcellus Durrell's first novel is an enduring tale of Ned Blake and his buddies Stinky and Fat Paul, eleven-year-old boys who form a secret club, then devote the summer of 1967 to learning about sex and all the other things that their parents and teachers don't want them to know. Touching and funny, the foul-mouthed narrator Ned tries to make sense of girls and boners and smokes, as adults tell them don't do this, then proceed to do it themselves.
